Can you climb, dash, hop, roll and slide faster than any other kid on your block?
Enter the Bubble-Dash Games at the Discovery Cube on September 30, and if you win, age group finalists will win fun outdoor toys, a family-four pack of tickets to the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach, and the grand prize of appearing on our 2018 Summer Fun Issue cover.
Age Groups
- Ages 5 to 6
- Ages 7 to 9
- Ages 10 to 12
The three Bubble-Dash champions win fabulous prizes and will be featured on the cover of Parenting OC’s 2018 Summer Fun Issue, photographed by Ana Brandt.
The race starts with a 45-ft obstacle course. Next you slip inside a Zorb ball and run like a hamster in a wheel. After that, climb to the top of a 25-ft slide to whoosh across the finish line. Watch out, as there will be a few surprises along the way. Best time wins.

Hello Kelvin,
We are currently going through the results, but unfortunately it is going to take some time before we can post the end results. The short answer to your question is we should have results up around the end of next week unless unforeseen things pop up. The reasoning for it taking this long is to make sure it is fair for everyone, since it would not be fair if someone had the best time, but did not pay for their entry (payment was declined for example). We also go through the results to check for any inconsistencies between participants to make sure everything is in order. There are a few other reasons for the delay, but our end goal is to make sure that this is as fair as possible for everyone. I apologize for not seeing this sooner, but we actually had to close preregistration last Wednesday I believe, but we do take walk ins on the day of our events! Times are always subject to availability though, and we generally close preregistration 2-3 day prior to the event date. I apologize again for not seeing this sooner, but hopefully this will help for next year’s Bubble-Dash and/or our Cute Kid Cover Contest coming in March 2018!

For the bubble dash contest, can we take a look at the circuit or practice before the day some how?

Hello Renata,
The Bubble-Dash circuit will be very similar to the one in our video at the bottom of this page, or by clicking here to be directed to the YouTube video. The course will be extremely similar to the ones shown there, if not the exact same ones. I know we are aiming to have these specific ones at the event, but I am not part of the Event Coordination team, so I am unable to confirm this with 100% certainty. Also, you are more than welcome to come by before your start time to check out the course, and we are planning on allowing the kids to go through this run twice, and we will use their best time for the competition, but this may change depending on how the event pans out. I’m sorry I am unable to give answers with absolute confidence, but as this is the first year we are holding this, there is a chance things will change when coming across unforeseen issues, but we are doing our best to make sure this event will be as fair as possible for everyone.

Unfortunately I do not have that information right now, and I’m not sure I would be able to give out that information either. There is still time for people to sign up for the event, and I do believe we will allow people to sign up on the day of the event (Saturday, September 30, 2017), BUT we cannot guarantee that all walk-ins will be able to participate. This is all based on how many participants there are, as well as how much time there is. Not only that, but if you preregister ahead of time, you will set up a run time (times will be assigned in the week leading up to the event), while walk ins will have to wait in line to participate.
