Experience the awe-inspiring aerialists, world-class acrobats, internationally-acclaimed clowns and death-defying daredevils of Circus Vargas.
Circus Vargas returns to Orange County this month with a show blending the traditions found under the “big top” with the skillset of international performers, skilled aerialists and acrobats, and of course, clowns.
The 2026 edition — “Masquerade!” — transports guests to an alternate, otherworldly reality, with vibrant costumes, elaborate music and lighting, jaw-dropping stunts and performance artistry.
“Circus Vargas is very much an immersive experience,” said Ringmaster Johnathan Lee Iverson. “The intimacy of our big top makes it so. The wonder of the show is within arms reach. Every seat is a great seat under our big top. If you’re lucky, our clowns may invite you into the ring.”
Founded in California in 1969, Circus Vargas is one of the world’s largest traveling circuses still operating under a traditional big top tent. Its mix of wholesome, high-energy entertainment and classic American tradition has managed to appeal across generations, even through the development of modern technology and social media.
“Circus is a living art. You can’t synthesize it,” Iverson said. “There are no stunt doubles or second takes, and no one is playing a role. People will always have the desire to come alive and be awestruck by the majesty and wonder that is the human body and imagination. Furthermore, nothing beats enjoying that wonder with others. Circus Vargas welcomes the age of social media. It enables us to stay in your lives 365 days a year.”
It’s also a way for family members to keep connected with each other over the years.
“I’ve been in the circus industry for nearly 30 years,” Iverson said. “I’ve met numerous people who were literally raised on the sound of my voice and they’ve come back again and again, some with families of their own and the wonder and excitement are still there.”
Tickets for “Masquerade” are on sale now. Pricing and seating locations vary, with options including VIP and ringside reserved seating. Ticket prices range from $25 to $85. | circusvargas.com
