Parenting OC’s Learn & Grow
Expo
Saturday, October 6

This health, education and special needs expo gives families the opportunity to connect with more than 60 exhibitors that focus on healthy living. These are experts in the community that can offer parents valuable tools, experience and wisdom to help them raise kids that are healthy in body and mind. The event includes free health screenings, nutrition and fitness demos and family activities, including face painting, balloon art and strolling entertainment. Families who attend will receive a free child admission for a full day at Discovery Cube Orange County, where the event is taking place. Presented by ParentingOC, Learn & Grow takes place Oct. 6 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Halloween Time At Disneyland
Friday, September 7 – Wednesday, October 31

Halloween is bigger than ever at the Disneyland Resorts. Disneyland returns with such seasonal favorites as Haunted Mansion Holiday and Space Mountain Ghost, along with a pretty Pumpkin Parade. California Adventure turns Cars Land into “Radiator Screams,” and has a special Guardians of the Galaxy: Monsters After Dark Halloween experience. Times vary for these events.

Snakes of Orange County
Saturday, September 1

Local herpetologist Steve Bledsoe will talk about snakes that live in Orange County and give an informative presentation on local rattlesnakes. Find out how you identify different snakes as well as what to do if you encounter one. There will also be a live reptile display featuring local snake species. This family-friendly event goes from 7:15 pm-8:45 pm.

Tall Ships Festival
Friday, September 7 – Sunday, September 9

Set sail this weekend on a grand nautical adventure. The Tall Ships return to Dana Point for the 34rd year. An at-sea parade kicks off the festivities Friday night. The weekend’s attractions include pirates, mermaids, vessel tours, and mock cannon battles. The festival’s hours are 4 pm-7:30 pm September 7, and 10 am-7:30 pm September 8-9.

Knott’s Spooky Farm
Saturdays – Sundays, September 29 – October 28

If Knott’s Scary Farm is just too scary for your little ones (or for you), visit Knott’s Spooky Farm instead. This daytime Halloween celebration (10 am-4 pm) is geared especially for kids ages 3-11. There will be special holiday attractions and activities with childhood favorites Charlie Brown and Snoopy joining in the fun.
