Restaurants with Bite-Sized Foods for Kids of All Ages

Published August 17, 2018Admin Only:

Burntzilla bitzied portions

Burntzilla

Burntzilla is the product of a merger between two popular Orange County food trucks: Burnt and Dogzilla. This family-friendly restaurant has taken the best flavors from both trucks and created a fun and delicious menu of comfort food served in bite-sized portions. Slider options include everything from the classic cheeseburger to the more exotic pineapple pork. For the little vegetarians out there there’s the fried cheese slider or the PBJ, made with homemade peanut butter, crushed pretzels, blueberry jam and sliced banana. To venture over to the Zilla, or hot dog, side of the menu kids will have to step out of their comfort zones a bit—okay, maybe a lot. With offerings like a spicy chili dog with pickled jalapeños, a bacon-wrapped spicy link with avocado and pico de gallo, and a spicy Cajun link with grilled onion and spicy mayo, kids will definitely need to ditch the plain-hot-dog-with-ketchup mindset. For those who aren’t quite ready to make that leap, there’s always the safety of the kids combos—a slider or chicken tenders served with fries or tater tots and a drink.

Cinnaholic Baby Buns

Bite-Sized Baby Buns at Cinnaholic

You might recall Cinnaholic from the popular TV show Shark Tank, where company founders Shannon and Florian Radke appeared in search of a sweet deal to help expand their fledgling cinnamon roll empire. Four years—and 24 stores—later, their idea for creating custom, gourmet cinnamon rolls is fully realized. The Cinnaholic experience begins with a fresh baked cinnamon roll. Next, kids choose from 20 frosting options like vanilla and strawberry to more adventurous choices like banana cream, cake batter and marshmallow. Finally, they get to top off their “Baby Buns” with berries or chocolate sauce or brownie bites or sprinkles…or maybe just more marshmallows. Oh, and did I mention that all of their ingredients are cholesterol-free and vegan? That’s right! No eggs. No dairy. No LDL. No kidding. And they didn’t forget about kids with nut allergies either—their ingredients (aside from optional toppings) are also nut-free, though some are produced on equipment that also handles tree nuts. You won’t find a sweeter deal than that!

Love & Puree fresh purees and meals

Love & Purée

Love & Purée specializes in fresh and nutritious purees and meals for kids of all ages. Locally-sourced, 100-percent organic and non-GMO, the menu is divided into four stages that introduce different textures and flavors based on age. At four months old, babies can enjoy the single-ingredient purees like mango, butternut squash, peas, pears, sweet potato and zucchini. For slightly older babies, those same flavors are mixed with foods such as chia, ghee butter, cinnamon, blueberries, coconut milk and Greek yogurt, as well as more textured foods like rice, quinoa, oats and chicken to create a variety of blends aimed at optimizing nutrition. The menu rounds out with heartier options like pasta with chicken meatballs, cauliflower mac-and-cheese, chicken nuggets and fried rice. For kids on-the-go there’s the Kids SUPER Shake and the Frozen Puree Cubes. Love and Purée even offers a gluten- and dairy-free Parents Protein Bowl. Everything is prepared fresh at their store and is available for pick-up or delivery.
