Every year on March 19, the Mission San Juan Capistrano honors the return of swallows with this colorful event, which began back in the 1920s. Taking place from 9 am to 3 pm, the festivities regularly include mariachi music, Native American storytelling, flamenco dance performances, kids craft projects and a variety of educational programs and community presentations, as well as the traditional ringing of the Mission’s bells! Tickets are recommended (purchase through website).
