Bowers’ Books for Kids: Storytime in the Galleries 

Author Marie Chan shares her latest book, Mamie Takes A Stand, the true-life story of Mamie Tape, an eight-year-old Chinese American girl who helped to desegregate San Francisco schools in the 1880s. The reading happens at 10:30 am on September 28 in the “Ancient Arts of China” Exhibit.” It’ll be followed by a related art project. The first 35 people to RSVP can receive a free copy of the book.
