PICK OF THE MONTH
Home for the Holidays Adoption
December 10th
This is often the time of year we not only look forward to all the gift giving and hooplah of the holidays, but also start to worry about the messages we send our kids with the abundance of material things all wrapped up in shiny paper. If you are looking for options to share the fun of the season, without quite so much physical stuff, you might consider a present that is all about teaching unconditional love and responsibility to the kids. Perhaps it is time for a pet.
Make sure your household is prepared once things pass the puppy or cute kitty stage, and then consider adopting a shelter animal instead of designer doggies or pedigreed pussycats.
Over 30 local pet rescue groups and shelters will bring more than 600 homeless animals – dogs, cats, rabbits, and other small creatures – to the City of Irvine Animal Care Center’s 11th annual pet adoption fair. Each adopted animal will have been spayed or neutered, microchipped, and evaluated by a veterinarian. Dozens of pet-related vendors will also be attending this event, which will have food trucks, a bake sale, a silent auction, and an opportunity drawing too.
