Egg-cited for spring? Here are 20 spring and Easter-themed events across OC sure to keep your schedule packed.
1 – Buena Park
Spring Eggstravaganza & Pancake Breakfast
The city of Buena Park brings its Spring Eggstravaganza to Boisseranc Park on April 16. The pancake breakfast starts the party at 8 am with festivities beginning at 9 am. The morning’s activities include bounce houses, train, field games, a petting zoo and spring crafts. Local first responders will be there with their vehicles too. The Candy Hunt commences at 12 pm and is divided into five age groups from ages 12 and younger.
2 – Costa Mesa
Kids will be roaring with glee on April 16 at Costa Mesa’s Lions Park Event Lawn between 10 am-1 pm. Among the city’s SpringFest highlights are photos with the Spring Bunny and the Egg Scramble, which has three different age groups: 2-4-year-olds (at 10:30 am); 5-6-year-olds (at 11 am) and 7-9-year-olds (at 11:30 am). The Fest also features face-painting, games and other entertainment. No registration required.
3 – Cypress
Egg Hunt hunters should hop over to Cypress’ Oak Knoll Park on April 16 for egg hunts and spring activities for ages 4-11. The hunt for the candy-filled eggs will start sharply at 10:30 am. Little kids (ages 3 and younger) will get their own special activity area. There will be opportunities to purchase food from food trucks and get a photo with the Bunny.
4 – Dana Point
The Easter Bunny will be plenty busy in Dana Point on April 16 because the city is having Easter Egg Hunts at both Pines Park and Sea Canyon Park. Both events run from 8 am-11 am with a pancake breakfast available the entire time. The Bunny visits occur between 9 am-10 am with the Egg Hunts rolling out at 10 am. Children up to 10 years old can participate in the Hunts.
5 – Fountain Valley
Fountain Valley’s Easter Egg Hunt
The city of Fountain Valley lets Easter Egg Hunters sleep in — at least a little bit. This April 16 Egg Hunt is a continuous one, running from 8:30 am-11 am. The merry morning at Fountain Valley’s Rec Center & Sport Park also offers free carnival games, prizes and a special appearance from the Easter Bunny — photos with the Bunny will be available too.
6 – Garden Grove
Atlantis Play Center Eggscavation
This drive-thru holiday event will be a sweet time for children ages 3-10. Every registered child will get a great bag that will be stuffed with goodie-filled eggs as well as a take-home craft. There will also be a photo chance with the Easter Bunny. Sign-up needs to be done by April 15 by calling 714-741-5200 or online at ggcity.org/reggister. The Eggscavation excitement occurs at the Play Center on April 16 from 1 pm-4 pm.
7 – Irvine
Irvine Park Railroad Easter Eggstravaganza
Celebrate Easter every day through April 16 at the Irvine Park Railroad. Get your picture with the Easter Bunny. Go on an egg hunt. Ride a train or a hay wagon. Other family-friendly activities include carnival games and cookie decorating. Tickets are needed for most activities and the egg hunt has age-grouped time slots. This Eggstravaganza operates 10 am-5 pm weekdays and 9 am-6 pm weekends.
8 – Irvine
Easter Celebration at Pretend City
On April 16, families can join the museum in a day of Easter joy. You can distinctly decorate an Easter egg and play some holiday-inspired games and activities. Looking for Easter will read during storytime (11 am & 2:30 pm) and you can find the Easter Bunny at 11:15 am & 2:45 pm in Pretend City. By the way, the museum will be closed on Easter Sunday, April 17.
9 – La Habra
Tweens (ages 7-13) still excited about egg hunts will be thrilled over this after-dark egg adventure. Taking place April 15, from 7 pm-8 pm in La Bonita Park, La Habra’s annual Egg Hunt also includes themed activities and glow-in-the-dark items to help make for happy hunting. 10 – La Habra
La Habra adds a unique twist to its Eggstravaganza — the Helicopter Egg Drops. Happening April 16 in La Bonita Park from 8 am-12 pm, this springtime festival also contains crafts, games, music, a pancake breakfast, Family Health Fair, a GO trailer and more kids’ activities. The first, for Special Needs & Seniors 60+, starts at 9 am. Ages-based timeslots follow, from youngest to oldest. Egg Hunt wristbands can be purchased at La Habra’s Community Center.
11 – Lake Forest
Families can have baskets of fun at this Eggstravaganza, which will be held April 9, from 11 am-3 pm at Lake Forest’s El Toro Park. The day comes stocked with games, rides, music and photo opportunities (including with Hoppy the Spring Bunny). Bring a basket or bags to collect candy-filled eggs from various themed egg stations using your free egg station card. The first 1,000 young egg hunters can participate in these eggcellent egg stations!
12 – Los Alamitos
Los Alamitos’s Spring Carnival
The MemorialCare Miller Children’s & Women’s Hospital Long Beach hosts this annual seasonal celebration, which occurs in Little Cottonwood Park April 16 from 10 am-12 pm. Kids can go on egg hunts as well as collect stamps at game booths and then redeem them for prizes. The carnival also offers a selection of food sellers along with other vendors’ booths.
13 – Newport Beach
Does Newport Beach’s mayor have a more fun duty than hosting this holiday Egg Race? It would be hard to find a better way to spend a morning than going on a train ride, playing with inflatables and getting a picture with the Easter Bunny. And, of course, there are the egg races! These eggs-cellent amusements all happen April 9, from 10 am-12 pm at Newport Beach’s Civic Center Park.
14 – Placentia
Placentia’s Easter Eggcitement
This annual holiday celebration provides a bounty of pleasures: crafts, games, storytime, raffles, food and photos with the Easter Bunny. Bring an Easter basket too. Egg hunts will happen at 10:15 am-10:45 am for special needs and little ones ages 4 and younger and 11 am-12:45 pm for 5-12-year-olds (while supplies last). All of these Easter thrills happen April 9 in Kraemer Memorial Park from 10 am-1 pm.
15 – San Clemente
San Clemente Playschool Springtime Eggstravaganza
Little ones (ages 3-5) can get a big jump on their Easter partying at this April 1 Eggstravaganza. No yoke … I mean, no joke. Between 10 am-12 pm at Tierra Grande Park, preschoolers can do egg dying and spring crafts, play Bunny games and have a photo with the Easter Bunny! And, naturally, there is a giant egg hunt too. Space is limited; pre-registration online is suggested. Parents are welcome to attend but aren’t required.
16 – San Clemente
Celebrate springtime in San Clemente with a morning blooming with amusing activities, such as a bubbly spring-themed area, live animals, games, a giant slide and face-painting. 16 – San Clemente
If San Clemente’s morning Springtacular isn’t enough action for you, then visit the city’s Splashtacular in the afternoon. From 12 pm-4 pm on April 16, attendees of all ages have some fun at the city’s Aquatics Center. Folks can enjoy a recreation swim with the snorkel Bunny. Between 12:30 pm-1:50 pm, there will be age-based underwater egg hunts. After that, you can attempt a giant inflatable obstacle course. Fans of egg hunts can center their attention on Stanton’s Central Park, which is the site of Easter Egg Hunts on April 16 between 9 am-11 am. Participants of all ages can participate in these egg hunts. They can get photos with the Easter Bunny as well. As part of this event, Stanton is having an informational resource fair too.
18 – Tustin
Tustin’s Easter Celebration and Egg Hunt
The city of Tustin has assembled quite an Easter celebration in its Sports Park on April 16. A pancake breakfast will be served from 8 am-10 am. Families can enjoy games and attractions like a petting zoo, train rides and a jumper, from 9 am-11:45 am. Egg hunts also begin at 9 am. The fest also features Easter Bunny photo ops, a Kids Freeze Dance, a Hullabaloo concert and a BMX Bike Show. R

19 – Yorba Linda
Yorba Linda invites youths (ages 7-13) to Hurless Barton Park on April 15 for an evening of Easter egg hunting (7:30 pm– 8:30 pm). Participants should bring a flashlight and baskets so they can spot and save eggs during their after-dark quest. Bring a tablet or cell phone too because there will be some trivia opportunities. Music and photo ops are part of the nighttime adventures as well. Online registration is required.

Yorba Linda’s Egg-Citement Hunt
Hurless Barton Park will be populated with candy-stuffed plastic eggs on April 16 for children (ages 2-9) to find. The Egg Hunts, which start at 10 am, are set up in age-specific areas. Don’t forget to bring a basket to collect your eggs! Game booths, prizes, crafts, face-painting, a petting zoo and Easter Bunny photo opportunities are also part of the morning’s “egg-citement.”
