Greater Palm Springs Restaurant Week

Published June 6, 2016Admin Only:

JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa - Flamingos

Fine dining in an Alpine forest while enjoying panoramic views of the Coachella Valley might sound farfetched, but dining at Palm Springs Aerial Tramway’s Peaks Restaurant during restaurant week, is just one of the many ways you can sample the best of the region with the family at a fraction of the normal cost. Restaurant week participants offer three course meals, for $28/$38/$48. From steals to splurges, here are a few of our favorite.

$38 Mikado — www.marriott.com

  • Starter – Ahi Poke, Miso Soup, or Fresh Mikado Salad
  • Entrée – New York Steak & Shrimp, Halibut & Scallops, or Chicken & Shrimp
  • Sweets – Green Tea Ice Cream, Orange Sorbet, or Japanese Hot Green Tea

Reach the island restaurant by boat for tableside teppanyaki.

$38 Jackalope Ranch — thejackaloperanch.com

  • Starter – Baby Green Salad, Flash Fried Cauliflower, Pork Belly & Pineapple Skewers, Orange & Fennel Salad
  • Entrée – Pan Roasted Alaskan Halibut, Bucatini & Meatballs, Pan Roasted Bone In Chicken Breast, 7oz Filet Mignon
  • Dessert — Chocolate Cappuccino Mousse Cake or Apple Tart with Salted Caramel Drizzle

This six and half acre property has plenty of room to roam if younger kids need a break, hit the Saloon early for Happy Hour around the 21,000Sq Ft Bar.

Peaks Restaurant

$48 Peaks Restaurant — www.PSTramway.com

  • Starter – Citrus Salad, Crispy Pork Belly or Salmon Carpaccio.
  • Entrée – Coq Au Vin, Miso Sea Bass or Steak Au Poivre.
  • Dessert – Orange Vanilla Crème Brulee, Bread Pudding or Raspberry Cheesecake.

Reduced tram fares after 4:00 p.m with confirmed Peaks Restaurant reservations help justify the splurge.

$28 Blue Coyote Café — www.bluecoyotegrill.com

  • Starters – Guacamole, Cup of Corn Chowder, Tortilla or Posole Soup or Mixed Greens
  • Entrée – Half Slac Southwestern Baby Back Ribs, Baja Swai, Pollo Naranj, or Fajitas
  • Dessert – Traditional Flan or Ice Cream

We love dining outside on the expansive patios under the stars, and the live music.

$28 Vicky’s of Sante Fe — www.vickysofsantafe.com

  • Starter – BLT Wedge, Poached Pear Salad, Ahi Tuna
  • Entrée — Braised Boneless Beef Short Ribs, Salmon Calabrese, Double New Zealand Lamb Chops, Pan Seared Sea Scallops, 10 oz. Flat Iron Steak
  • Dessert — Brioche Bread Pudding with Vanilla Bean Ice Cream or Chocolate Decadence Cake

Enjoy a wide variety of choices and nightly live music from a venue that attracts national performers.
