PICK OF THE MONTH
Dana Point Festival of Whales
Saturday March 3 – Sunday March 4
Saturday March 10 – Sunday March 11
An over-whale-ming amount of fun is to be had at the 47th annual Festival of Whales in Dana Point Harbor. For two full weekends, this exciting event has a little (actually big) something for all ages – real life whales! The festival invites families to experience some of the greatest animals alive during the gray whale’s annual migratory ritual. Besides whale watching, the event also offers a gigantic list of activities, including sand sculpting competitions, a clam chowder cook-off, the Diamond Dig, Rubber Ducky Derby, and the Under Sea Eco Carnival. If that is not enough, a street fair, car shows, kids fishing clinic, arts and crafts shows, food, live entertainment will also be present to keep you and loved ones entertained all weekend. The festival will kick off with the annual parade at 10 am on Saturday, March 3.

While hazelnut hunting in the woods, Mouse encounters three hungry creatures: the cunning Fox, the eccentric old Owl and the party mad Snake. England’s acclaimed Tall Stories Theatre Company brings Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s classic picture book to life with a marvelous, magical musical adaptation. This one hour-long production is recommended for kids 3 and older. The 10 am March 24 performance will be sensory friendly; learn more at www.scfta.org/sensoryfriendly.
