At California Adventure, Lunar New Year is all about the mouse — the Year of the Mouse to be exact. You can celebrate Year of the Mouse with multicultural activities that salute Chinese, Vietnamese and Korean cultures. Guests will enjoy 24 days of Lunar New Year celebrations from Jan. 17 to Feb. 9, 2020. The limited-time festival gives people of all ages the chance to experience unique holiday entertainment, special Disney-inspired Asian cuisine items, kid-friendly crafts projects, and popular Disney characters dressed up in festive costumes. Families won’t want to miss Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession, the return of the heartwarming “Hurry Home — Lunar New Year Celebration” prior to “World of Color,” a Lucky Wishing Wall, and delicious foods inspired by Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese cultures.

Those mysterious Blue Men will amaze audiences with their imaginative performance that mixes together music, humor and athleticism into a mesmerizing, memorable theater-going experience. Tuesday-Friday shows are at 7 pm; 2:30 pm & 7:30 pm on Saturdays, and 1 pm & 6:30 pm on Sundays. January 7-8 are Kids Nights with ticket discounts and special activities.

Aquarium of the Pacific’s Underwater Parks Day
Saturday, January 11
Spend the morning finding out about Southern California’s various marine protected areas. The Aquarium’s Great Hall will contain films, educational booths, and activities relating to Underwater Parks Day. Visitors also can learn about the range of commercial and recreational activities permitted in, and ways to explore, these special ocean places.

Reading In The Redwoods
Sunday, January 12
Families can listen to a reading of “Owl Moon” amongst tall trees. They’ll also learn about owl adaptations from Naturalist Harmonie and Luna the owl as well as make their own owls using recycled burlap coffee bean bags. Please bring some type of book for the Book Swap. Parents must remain with their children during this 9:30 am-11 am program.

Free Ferris Wheel Fridays
Fridays, January 3 – February 28
C’mon, take a free ride on the Santa Ana Zoo’s 50 Monkey Ferris Wheel every Friday through the end of February. The uniquely designed 64-foot wheel spotlights the Zoo’s 50 Monkey Heritage with each fully-contained gondola featuring a unique endangered monkey. The Ferris Wheel operates from 11 am-2 pm (weather permitting).
