This family-friendly festival of spooky science and sustainable fun kicks off on Friday, Oct. 4.
Calling all witches, wizards, ghosts and goblins! Get ready for a spellbinding good time this October at Discovery Cube Orange County’s fourth-annual Pumpkin Palooza presented by OC Waste & Recycling. This event is packed with two floors of thrilling activities, a frightfully fun dance party and a festival full of spooky science. It’s the perfect Halloween bash for all ages, happening Saturdays and Sundays from Oct. 4 through Oct. 26.
Step into the magic of this year’s all-new Pumpkin Path, an interactive maze that transforms into a one-of-a-kind adventure! Armed with a special pumpkin device, guests will uncover spooky surprises and hands-on lessons about sustainable living along the way. From discovering what’s truly organic to learning how simple actions like composting can make a big impact, every twist and turn brings a new chance to become a champion for a greener planet. The journey wraps up with a glowing finale and a gift of wildflower seeds to take home, so the fun (and sustainability) continues long after you leave the maze!
Also new this year, families can also stop by the Healthy Kitchen for a tasty twist on sustainability education. Here, kids will learn why composting their pumpkin is so important, explore eye-opening facts about food waste and discover how zero-waste practices can help protect the planet. Through hands-on demonstrations and interactive lessons, guests will see how small steps in the kitchen can make a big difference in reducing food waste and supporting a greener future.

Pumpkin Palooza is where education meets pure fun. The spooky good times start on the first floor of Discovery Cube Orange County with a Halloween festival full of ghastly delights. Take a spin on Boo’s Bumper Cars to learn about the laws of motion, and become a mad scientist at Pumpkinology 101. Guests can even make glow-in-the-dark slime, measure pumpkins with pi and race a marble run. Don’t forget to snap a photo with the life-size pumpkin house and catch some interactive science demos.
But the fun doesn’t stop there, it’s time to get your monster mash on! Head to the second floor theater for the electrifying Pumpkin Palooza Dance Party. Fan-favorite Jack-o-Lynn is back by popular demand. The giant, 20-foot DJ pumpkin will be spinning today’s hottest hits and Halloween favorites so get ready to dance until you drop.
Pumpkin Palooza starts on Oct. 4 and runs through Oct. 26 every Saturday and Sunday only. Tickets are on sale now at discoverycube.org. Please note, Discovery Cube general admission is required.
