
Tango no Sekku is a national holiday in Japan that encourage the happiness, health, and growth of kids – which is why it is also known as “Children’s Day.” On May 5, Pretend City salutes both youngsters and Japanese culture. Kids can find out how to make origami art as well as creating a “carp”. Carps are a big symbol for Tango no Sekku, with A Carp for Kimiko being read at storytime.
