The Japanese American National Museum in downtown LA throws its annual free Oshogatsu Family Festival on January 7 (11 am-5 pm). Since this is the Year of Dragon, the day holds dragon-themed scavenger hunt, crafts, and origami. There will also be interactive storytimes, live music, and a traditional mochitsuki (Japanese rice pounding ritual) performance. Plus, a Kids Raffle offers a chance to win a candy sculpture made by Shinobu “Shan the Candyman” Ichiyanagi (while supplies last). https://www.janm.org/events/2024-01-07/2024-oshogatsu-family-festival-year-dragon
