At L.A.’s California Science Center, you can view over 250 authentic artifacts—many never seen outside of Guatemala – that spotlight the amazing ancient Maya civilization of Mexico and Central America. Highlights include a majestic 9-foot-long stucco sculpture shaped like a warrior wearing a jaguar mask and an ornate jade and obsidian mosaic mask, while hands-on activities deciphering hieroglyphs and playing with an intricate Mayan calendar. Maya resides at the CSC through January 15, 2024.
