Dana Point’s Whale Activities for Children

From March 6-31, kids can scour Dana Point parks on a scavenger hunt for hidden decorative wooden whale tails. Take a photo of them and share on social media #DPRecWhaleTailSighting or enter a whale watching contest (details on its website). The city also is hosting an all-ages kid’s art & literature contest March 1-22. To enter, email a sweet story, poem or artwork themed about the California Grey Whale to recreation@danapoint.org.
