In the Little Red Schoolhouse, we make learning fun, and today we are making Georgia O’Keeffe inspired flowers out of coffee filters to tie in with our Georgia O’Keeffe artist study! Paper Flower Supplies:
- Coffee Filters or tissue paper
- Scissors
- Glue
- Pom poms
- Construction paper (optional)
How to make Paper Flowers:
Step 1: Twist or wring a coffee filter
Step 2: Open up coffee filter together at inside bottom and add pom pom
Step 3: Repeat to layer coffee filters
Step 4: Glue filters together at inside bottom and add pom pom
Step 5: (optional) Glue flowers and leaves to card stock or construction paper
Alternate: How to dye coffee filters for Paper Flowers
Step 1: Take a stack of coffee filters
Step 2: Put a little water & food coloring in a bowl
Step 3: Turn filters upside down and dip in liquid
Step 4: Set aside to dry
Step 5: When dry, cut rounded petal shapes
Step 6: Glue liners together at inside bottom to create layers
Step 7: Glue pom pom in center
