Tropical Drinks throughout Orange County

Published August 16, 2019Admin Only:

If a staycation is on your summer itinerary, we have some beverages to help you feel like you are on island time.

Twisted Tiki

Twisted Tiki

Orange County’s newest Tiki Bar can be found at the McFadden Public Market in Santa Ana and the space is designed to be a “true taste of island escapism.” You’ll find classic tiki drinks but you can also count on original creations too, like the Purple Polynesian Sunset. This purple pina colada uses a blend of pea-flower-infused Captain Morgan coconut rum and Haven coconut rum. The 26-seat tiki bar offers happy hour Wednesday to Saturday from 5 pm to 7 pm with cocktails $3 off the regular menu price. Be warned: They fill up fast, so to avoid being voted off the island, visit their Yelp page and add your name to the virtual waiting list.

Disneyland Resort - Tropical Hideaway

The Tropical Hideaway

A trip to Disneyland isn’t complete without a Dole Whip Float. You can find the tart and creamy pineapple soft serve in Adventureland at the Tiki Juice Bar outside the Enchanted Tiki Room and at The Tropical Hideaway around the corner. The Tropical Hideaway also has light bites and snacks like bao buns and sweet lumpia, plus alternative soft serve flavors like raspberry and orange. The Dole Whip Float is available at both locations, which adds pineapple juice to the mix for a drink that will make you feel like you are poolside.

Hopper & Burr

Hopper & Burr, a coffee shop right in the heart of Downtown Santa Ana, brews a mean cup of coffee but they also have a seasonal drink menu too. And this summer they have brought the tiki. Choose from Invisible Island made with Ethiopian coffee, passionfruit, cinnamon, orange, angostura bitters and mint or our personal favorite, Painface Killah. Toasted coconut and pineapple is mixed with concentrated Ethiopian coffee for an eye-opening tropical beverage.

Stowaway

Stowaway is tucked away in the very back of Tustin’s Union Market like a bonafide hidden oasis. They offer Polynesian-inspired cuisine and pages of tiki drinks with a selection of classic tiki, a collection of Stowaway originals and large-format drinks too—did somebody say punch bowl? Try shaking up their Scorched Piña at home with this recipe.
