Yes, summer is just about here… and so is Father’s Day. And so much more. We’re hopping right along 2022 with some things returning to normal and other things still in flux. But it all seems to be moving in a forward motion — rather quickly.
In that spirit, our education feature this month highlights the educational landscape in 2022 as the school year draws to a close, while we move through a pandemic and hopefully out of one. It’s a very insightful read you won’t want to miss. It also leads into our Orange County Private School Guide, which is full of some handy information.
Our other feature is all about the dads and spotlights some who work with kids either for a living or as a way of giving back (or both). Meanwhile, our third feature details a new addition at the OC Zoo — the Large Mammal Exhibit, featuring five big cats, which is now open and ready to offer much engaging family fun this summer. To get even more of a glimpse of what to expect at the new exhibit, check out our video on our website.
Speaking of fun activities, Family Wellness this month focuses on how to enjoy the OC outdoors — while protecting wildlife and nature — with the family in the coming months. While Ask the Experts addresses the timely topic of how to handle long-term pandemic anxiety in children.
Back to dads, our Mindfulness writer discusses the life lessons that fathers can pass on to their children — particularly in regards to boundaries. And Local Hero tells the story of a local dad who turned tremendous tragedy into a way to help other dads become better dads.
Hopefully there’s lots of fun in store this summer. Don’t forget to wish all the dads a happy Father’s Day!
