Halloween is here and the school year is underway. And things are starting to seem busy again.
Our October issue reflects all those things. This month, we have combined two big themes: our annual Readers’ Choice Awards and Halloween.
Our Readers’ Choice Issue highlights the best of the best in food, family fun, play spots for kids, education, health and beauty, camps and more. And it is selected by our readers. If you’re looking for some local family entertainment, you won’t want to miss this extensive guide.
On the Halloween front, we have compiled another extensive guide — this one for all the family-friendly activities going on for the spooky season. Ask the Expert also covers some advice from a medical expert on keeping kids safe this season. Local Hero spotlights a local teen who runs a family-friendly Halloween event out of his home with his dad. He shares why he gives to the community in this way and how he does it.
In other topics, our Mindfulness columnist this month discusses the importance of journaling and how students can do it mindfully.
POC Community this month also offers a special giveaway for families involving Thomas the Tank Engine. And in addition to all our activity guides this month, we still give you plenty of other events and activities for families in our monthly calendar.
It’s a fun and busy time of year. Keep safe, and happy Halloween!
