Take part in the Healthy Kids Day at the YMCA of Orange County to help spread the word.
By Lauren Felechner
On Saturday, April 26, 2014, the YMCA of Orange County will be celebrating Healthy Kids Day at six locations throughout Orange County. Healthy Kids Day is a county-wide effort to instill a sense of activity and movement in kids’ lives, as well as instill a healthier lifestyle in OC families. It is the Y’s national initiative to improve the health and well-being of families and to help them get a jump on creating a healthier summer. As a leading nonprofit committed to youth development, healthy living and social responsibility, the Y is addressing critical gaps in kids’ health and education.
These free events are open to the public and will include a variety of fun activities like bounce houses, games, prizes, music, arts and crafts, swimming, fitness and sports demonstrations, food, job opportunities and more! The participating locations include Fullerton, Laguna Niguel, Newport-Mesa, Huntington Beach, Mission Viejo and Santa Ana.
The YMCA will also be offering complimentary swim assessments, but please check for locations as this offer varies. Other special offers include: buy May swim lessons and get 50 percent off June lessons. Also, if you join the YMCA as a Health and Wellness member during the month of April, you may receive up to $100 off other programs like sports, swim and personal training.
