Q&A with Bridgit Mendler

The Disney star talks about her upcoming concert with Austin Mahone

On Wednesday, July 24, get ready to rock out at the OC Fair with two of the hottest teen heartthrobs out there: Bridgit Mendler and Austin Mahone. The long awaited concert will feature fan-favorite songs from both artists that include: “Ready or Not,” “11:11” and “Hello, my name is…” along with covers and songs from the “Good Luck Charlie,” star. The actress-turned-rock star chatted with Parenting OC about the upcoming show.

Parenting OC: What’s the best part of performing at an event like the OC Fair?
Bridgit Mendler: I love getting to perform in front of such a large and diverse audience! There may be people who are fans, but there are also people who are hearing my music for the first time. However, they are all experiencing the show together.

POC: What can we expect to see at the show?
BM: A group of people having a lot of fun! I love performing with my band so I hope that shows for the people watching. We do pretty much all of the songs off the album — some acoustic, and some covers.

POC: What’s your favorite part of the show?
BM: I love when I get to talk to the audience and make it feel like we’re all just hanging out and having a party together.

POC: What’s it like working alongside Austin Mahone?
BM: He’s great! He’s a really sweet guy and I love seeing how the fans go wild for him.

POC: What songs can we expect to hear at the show?
BM: You’ll hear almost all the songs off my album “Hello my name is…” and some covers.

POC: What do you hope concertgoers take away from your show?
BM: I hope they enjoy the music! I hope they watch the show and see what the songs mean to me.

POC: What advice do you give to aspiring singers and performers?
BM: Go for it! It takes a lot of hard work but if you are passionate and really love what you do, then it’s all worth it.
