Winter is coming! Where else in Orange County can you feed Comit and Cupid, or wait, is it Blitzen and Vixen? What about ice tubing down a 130-foot-tall 6-lane ice slide then jumping off and running over to ice skate on a 6,000 square-foot ice rink with a large movie screen playing favorite Christmas movies? How about stand inside the world’s largest lighted Christmas ornament for photos? Nowhere but at Winter Fest, held at the OC Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa until January 3rd.
Mark Etner, co-founder of Absolute Event Solutions who has put on “Chill” in Long Beach at the Queen Mary, is producing the new Winter Fest. “We wanted to really celebrate the holidays in a winter wonderland of family fun”, he said. It is a winter miracle in sunny Southern California. With additional side events, from the Candy Cane Carnival featuring 30 small fair rides to the Chainsaw Chicks on-stage slicing and dicing 300 pound blocks of ice into amazing sculptures, from the hot chocolates to the hot toddies, there is something that is sure to please children big or small.
A big hint, be sure to visit them online for tickets ahead of time at www.winterfestoc.com, as they offer discounts occasionally. Let us know what you think of the new event, and share your photos with us on social media! Our hashtag is: #parentingoc.
