Soooo my last entry I did a set of fabric painted pillows for our master bedroom and this week I’m writing about pillows again. It’s safe to say, I love pillows. They can make or break a room. With new pillows you can change a color scheme or freshen up even the most tired of rooms. I think that’s why I like to make or buy new pillows at least once a year. That and we have a dog. Dog + my clean freak ways do not always mix.
These pillows were super easy-probably one of the easiest projects I’ve ever done. All you need are:
- Cloth napkins
- No-sew tape or hot glue
- An iron (if using the no-sew tape)
- Stuffing or pillow form
Cloth napkins are the perfect thing to make a pillow out of. They have hemmed edges, they’re cheaper than most fabric at the store, and can you make them to coordinate with your dining area if you have an open concept house. I bought my napkins years ago at TJ Maxx. They came in a package of 4, but I only needed 6. So I bought 2 packages and had 2 napkins left over just waiting for this project.
I ironed the fabric prior to starting then I followed the directions for the no-sew tape. Once I had 3 edges done, I added the stuffing. I actually closed the fourth end with hot glue. The new sew tape requires more time and I wanted my pillow done and on my couch pronto- have I mentioned I have zero patience?
What do you think? I think it’s cute and just what the room needed. Until next time.
